Today is Oscars nomination day and that’s a shame this movie didn’t get a nomination in the International Feature film category.
The cinematography is so pleasing it actually look unreal. Every single shot was pleasant to see. I very much enjoyed the focus on the waves. Loved the acting and sensibility of Mame Bineta Sane. I just wished the relationship between Ada and Souleiman was more established at the beginning.
This movie also reveals how hard life can be and it shows that people are willing to do whatever it takes — risking their lives by going to Europe by boat — to have a better life and all the lives that can be broken because of it along the way. Worth watching.
