Christopher Perkins’s review published on Letterboxd:
The first 10-15 minutes of Burning are some of the sexiest meet-cute moments I’d seen in a while.
Girl flirts with boy.
Girl gets the boy.
Girl leaves boy shook.
Then the film takes a completely different turn.
We are introduced to a seductive, sly, and mysterious character played by Steven Yeun. And the story becomes a trail of intrigue.
Burning is a quietly paced but never boring whodunit. It leaves you guessing even when you feel like you’ve figured the characters out.
The tension builds. The hints are dropped. The suspicion always lingers.
And by the end, it leaves you speechless.
