Le Notti Bianche 1957
i hate the story that this is based on (something about it seems emotionally insincere, also… just leave her alone you weirdo) but i needed to get into visconti somehow— anyway this is probably one of the better adaptations possible, with a great dance scene and a good ending. most importantly though, this has one of the best soundtracks i’ve ever heard, which is especially impressive since it still has that emotionally manipulative glitz that so many 40s/50s soundtracks have.
