Invincible Asia’s review published on Letterboxd:
What a fantastic highlight of 80's action cinema this is. Despite some of Verhoeven's other works, namely "Starship Troopers" and "Total Recall" ranking among my all time favourites, this was my first time seeing "Robocop".
And it sure as hell won't be the last!
Instead of using the biggest of strokes to paint the action and the satire and bring his vision to life, Verhoeven takes the biggest buckets and throws them at the screen in a harsh, offensive, entertaining, brutal and direct manner that only the late 80's could've spawned.
Peter Weller is bloody amazing in this, bringing subtle emotions to the tragic figure that is Robocop while also kicking major arse. The good old-fashioned special effects and the fabulous score by Basil Poledouris that embodies justice better than anything else greatly support the impact and the sheer fun one can get watching this terrific film.
One more classic down and luckily one that stood the test of time.
