A Simple Plan is just the other side of Fargo, but without as much of the the quirky, dark sense of humour.
Sam Raimi proved with this film that he could make a straight thriller. Usually his films regardless of genre - horror, superhero etc. have an air of lightness about them, but not this. It's a cold and shocking tale of greed and betrayal that puts you in it and make you wonder: "shit, what would I do in the same situation?
