This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I don’t believe the comparisons to Nolan and the “disappointments “”in these reviews are justified. It felt very much Scorsese to me. I rewatched it recently and I still think It’s one of the most inspiring psychological thrillers I’ve ever seen. Scorsose brought Lehane’s “Shutter Island” to life, times 20……It deals with delusional disorders in an authentic manner and I think that’s crucial in films that explore mental illnesses. There’s something very creative in its simplicity. It was so realistic that even I, as the viewer was fooled until the very end - and was part of the delusion.
