this was pretty good. it hits a lot of standard beats but still has emotional resonance and definitely warrants respect for that! i think eddie redmayne will get a nomination and same with sacha baron cohen. if the oscars were up to me (they aren't and shouldn't be) i'd give two statuettes to jeremy strong because he delivered the camp performance of the decade only 10 months in. Bravo sir. the ending definitely rubbed me the wrong way and got…

i haven’t been moved by a character in the way i was moved by steven garza in a long ass while...and he is a real-life, breathing person!! not to mention how incredible the other characters are and how fascinating the story is.

  • Hamilton

the discourse surrounding this will remain a part of its history as much as its content. a product of its time in so many ways, good and bad.

that being said, i’ve never seen a movie, TV show, play, or musical more INTENTIONAL than hamilton — not a wasted line, breath, movement. the cinematography for this televised version mostly enhances this idea with little exception. objectively one of the most well-written things i’ve ever seen.

in terms of oscar potential: leslie odom jr. gives a once in a lifetime performance here, and i can SMELL the nomination
