The Legend of the Holy Drinker

European arthouse in the form of a deeply spiritual journey through the human condition ft. Rutger Hauer's finest performance.

What feels like one last chance to reflect, repent and find some form of absolution. A hazy dream where one slowly remembers and feels that sense of purpose in this life again; Where the path to peace within ourselves and with the people in our lives is found. A chance to experience and spread love and compassion to keep humanity's head above water...

    Look forward to re-watching.

Needed to commit to and embrace a more scifi dystopian aesthetic; Get a bit more bonkers with it... like Stuart Gordan's Fortress. Sadly it ends up being quite pedestrian.

Rutger Hauer's drip is fire though 🔥... 5/5 everyday of the week.

    You are my sunshine
    My only sunshine
    You make me happy
    When skies are gray
    You'll never know, dear
    How much I love you
    Please don't take
    My sunshine away

    The other night, dear
    As I lay sleeping
    I dreamed I held you
    In my arms
    When I awoke, dear
    I was mistaken
So I hung my head and I cried

    You are my sunshine
    My only sunshine
    You make me happy
    When skies are gray
    You'll never know, dear
    How much I love you
    Please don't take
    My sunshine away

The best and only cut of Alien 3 you need to see. David Fincher refuses to acknowledge it because director Tony Maylam came in and created it. Rutger Hauer calls a dog a dickhead and gets away with it.

90's supremacy... B-movie greatness... cult film perfection. Eat your heart out.

My 5 star ratings go to cinema that speak to #mytruth, #thetruth and both #objective/subjectivereality. 5 stars.

One of Rutger Hauer's best. Vincent D'Onofrio is also here; And turns out this is where Josie Packard (Joan Chen) from Twin Peaks ended up.

Euro-Russian arthouse trash that takes place in the universes of Blade Runner (Roy Batty's Russian origin story), Nirvana (1997) and Pyun's Omega Doom simultaneously. My kind of bizarre reality. Bathhouses and destructive sleaze a plenty.

All hail Rutger Hauer as he illustrates why communism does not work with that added human touch; And Yvonne Sciò is to die, I'd survive a Soviet famine for her. Lucky Hauer, cheeky devil.

Generic feel good Michael Cimino with a critical eye for doctors/Western medicine. Let the spirit heal.

Though it ultimately preaches a positive universal message. I can always get behind some low-key hatred for America.
