" I've got an infinite number of places to go, the problem is where to stay."
Favorite Mike Leigh movie. There’s nothing like it. Set in post-Thatcher England, this is an endlessly fascinating satiric critique of the society, an existential tragicomedy and an utterly bleak character study about a guy who's on a self-destructive journey. David Thewlis’s portrayal of nihilistic, obnoxious, funny & pitiable Johnny is one of the greatest performances ever.
