This doesn't really go anywhere. sets up a Hereditary-style story only to completely drop it in favor of .... what, exactly? Not sure if/what we're supposed to get out of this but when your ~atmospheric thriller~ is running over 2 hours you should probably take a good look at what you're putting on screen.
Pugh is fantastic but her character is let down by a script that winds up completely disregarding her heavy, heavy backstory to focus on ... cults...or something.
Don't want to shit on it too hard, as I didn't mind watching it, but the more I think about it the worse it gets.
