So...unlike first SCREAM that was still fresh in my mind after so many years, SCREAM 2 was a completely different story! I forgotten most of the stuff from this sequel, and in a way, it felt like I'm watching it for the first time.
Only halfway through the movie I remembered who is the killer in this sequel. But I totally forgot that there where actually two killers, so when they revealed the second killer in the end, that came as a surprise!
Also, I totally forgot how many known and popular young actors and actresses showed up in this sequel; like Heather Graham, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Joshua Jackson, Timothy Olyphant, Jerry O'Connell, Portia de Rossi, Tori Spelling, Luke Wilson and Selma Blair.
But anyway, if you ask me, first SCREAM is slightly better then the sequel (because it was first, and more original), but nevertheless, SCREAM 2 holds it on its own thanks to clever writing and many movie inside movie jokes, playing with its own legacy and popularity of the original. SCREAM 2 is slightly more action packed, especially in the finale, but same as the first movie, sequel is also self aware of all the horror (sequel) rules, and rules (and details) that where established in the first movie, and SCREAM 2 fully embraced that, and in the end, it benefits from that.
All in all, SCREAM 2 is fun and entertaining, same as the original, and that's all it matter's I guess.
