This is one of those films again that feels it could've been a Tales from the Crypt episode. It's quirky, has dark comedy, but has an underlying disturbing darkness to it. Villains is from the same fellas that wrote and directed Significant Other. Which has quite a different tone and mood than this but has a similar pacing and visual style.
The execution feels slightly undercooked but it doesn't take itself too seriously. so, ya know, whatever.
