Call me crazy, but this is not only one of the best origin movies, but also one of the best Marvel movies ever made. This was non-stop fun from start to finish and just a good ass time. The comedy landed from start to finish and I loved all of the characters. The acting was super solid and there were just so many awesome references. The whole world building in this was truly special and it gets me so excited to see where Marvel is taking things. The best part by far is the fight choreography. It’s super effective and done so crisply and well. I felt like I was watching some old Jackie Chan movies and that brought me back to my childhood. There’s also so many notable Hong Kong actors that I recognize from all of the movies my dad showed me as a kid.
I knew this movie was the shit when the main character had a poster for Walter Hill’s The Warriors, Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu Hustle and OutKast’s Stankonia. The ending and after credit scenes do not disappoint. As if I couldn’t be even more excited for what the next Phase of Marvel is bringing!!!
