So I’m planning to watch some of the works of Nuri Bilge Ceylan soon but I wanted to watch a few lighter films first before I start watching a lot of the more depressing films I want to watch.
Loved this on rewatch. Planning to rewatch a couple more Anderson works but yeah this movie is just heartwarming.
It’s just warm and welcoming.
All the jokes landed.
Willem Dafoe and Adrien Brody were amazing villains.
Ralph Fiennes and Tony Revolori are great leads. Ralph Fiennes steals just every scene he’s in.
Saoirse Ronan is amazing as well.
Visually it’s captivating.
All the shots in the snow look amazing.
The final shot is a perfect way to end it off.
And all the shots of The Grand Budapest Hotel look amazing.
The direction really just fits the mood of the film perfectly.
The soundtrack is perfect.
Again just fits the mood perfectly.
There were a few scenes that dragged on this watch but otherwise no problems.
9.5/10 a nice watch.
Rewatch of Fantastic Mr. Fox soon since it’s the fall season.
