Dune: Part Two 2024
Dune 2. What a moment! Saw this at the loudest IMAX in Florida (with Florida Florida-ing at its most Florida, right down to the 10 minutes of Pepsi and All State ads that preceded the twenty minutes of trailers and the Dune-merchandised beverages, i.e. Sandstorm Punch, The Chosen Rum, etc).

Last Christmas 2019

Variety Lights 1950
Many gags are genuinely hilarious. The whole dinner party scene especially stands out. Themes that I assume will be developed further throughout Fellini’s entire career come into play here, namely artistry, the struggle of making (or financing) art, ego, bad husbands with good wives, and being misunderstood, all wrapped up in a world filled with the zest of life with vibrant characters and locations that come and go like at a carnival. (Here it is a literal carnival.) The subtle surrealism throughout made this feel special for me, and I like to think came from Fellini’s influence as a co-director here.
