I enjoyed this film I found it to be an enthralling experience but I didn’t love it. I think I need a few more viewings to fully appreciate Ari Aster’s vision but this movie had a lot of brilliant moments of true terror, all the pagan rituals, dancing, festivities and drug trips gave this film a fun and enjoyable edge. Once the horror begins it hits you hard with shocking imagery, gory death scenes and a chilling musical score which all build a really nice suspenseful atmosphere. All the actors do a really good job at creating characters for the audience to get invested in which helps give this film more depth to its story and they play to their stereotypes well. The cinematography has some beautiful imagery, I really enjoy Ari’s style of atmospheric horror and am looking forward to what he can bring us next.
