the way they're shot from below as they creep from the balcony to the bedroom combined with the way it's lit and the way timmy is walking and the way the visions of gideon intro scores it is really SO otherworldly and transcendent, as if they're two wandering spirits... it truly sends me to another plane and its one of my favourite moments in a movie that is 132 minutes of favourite moments
also ever since i learned that john adams' hallelujah junction is a piece composed for two pianos to play simultaneously (that syncs up and diverges and flows together and clashes, but ultimately creates one unified melody) the use of it in the opening titles and throughout fucks me up SO much
