Kinda funny sometimes, and not absolutely horrible, but not terribly good either, and surprisingly lacking in substance. I’m not really sure what Fennel is going for here in the end (social commentary? Satire? Homage? None of it really ever lands) but she sure does have a good ear for witty dialogue, and visual style to boot: the film looks gorgeous and I love the house. Performances here are solid all around, especially Pike, who is cast excellently.
