Roughly two dozen viewings in, and this is still the most cuttingly incisive piece of American pop cinema made in the last 20 years. It feels silly to even call it “prophetic” at this point, as it was already finely tuned into the low hum, distorted frequency of greed that’s continued to deafen our culture a decade ago. Get rich or die trying.
