Jacob Suggs’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Florida Project is one of the most beautifully heartbreaking films I've ever seen. Watching a life in poverty through the eyes of a child is a lighthearted glimpse into a world of darkness.
I cried during the ending of this film. I adored every second of it, and that's not even mentioning the breathtaking and beautiful cinematography. Choosing to use lower angles to showcase these big environments and sets help give these run down buildings a grand, castle-like scope, and put all negative thoughts to the background. The film also uses colors extremely well, and once again is another way that gives these run down areas a sense of beauty.
This film was so snubbed at the Academy Awards. It deserves your attention, and if you haven't seen The Florida Project, do yourself a favor and watch it. I loved it, it's a masterpiece. What an emotional ride.
