Jake Apgar’s review published on Letterboxd:
I remember the first time I watched this I was up at like 1 in the morning and I saw this was on IMDb TV and it was one of the higher rated movies on there even though I had never heard of it (this was before I was full out movie nerd). I said I was only going to watch about 20 minutes...... well I finished the whole thing that night I couldn’t stop watching it.
Aaron Sorkin’s script in this movie is possibly the best screenplay ever. It instantly grabs your attention and doesn’t let go for the entire 2 hour runtime.
This movie is awesome! This is probably the best directed Fincher film. Se7en and Fight Club are the only ones that come close to that title. Those two movies are dark and gross and they help create the tones of the movies. This movie just looks professional it’s perfectly sets the tone.
Jesse Eisenberg plays this selfish asshole perfectly. He’s so unlikable and the performance is amazing. Andrew Garfield does amazing as well.
The ending is so amazing. It’s a rough one. Andrew Garfield acts perfect in that scene. “0.03%”
This is my favorite Fincher film and I only got one more left to go.... The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, and of course his Netflix movie coming out in October Mank.
