I'll watch anything, no matter how awful it is (mainly for HDTGM). I try to watch older movies as of late.
For 3.5 hours, it did not feel that long. The de-aging was so perfectly done that I didn't even notice it. All the acting was superb, especially De Niro. Pacino was his regular older Pacino self, so nothing exciting on his part. I really did like the reflective nature of the film and I think it made it stand out from Goodfellas and Casino.
If you don't know anything about William Randolph Hearst or the era, I can't imagine you finding this interesting. I know about this and found it a slog to get through. No offense to his dad, but the structure of the screenplay drags it down and Mank isn't an interesting enough character. This year's subpar The Artist.
