A Separate Peace (1972)

Probably a tearjerker at its time, but right now it's mostly indifferent in terms of feelings and how emotionally connected can you feel with these privileged kids and youngsters when they are under the drama of something that maybe was their fault all along, because we know that his irresponsible behavior was what managed to make their lives harder in the beginning, but they don't seem to suffer and in the end it just wants you to make you guilty about having to witness the whole amount of events and they're just a bunch of kids playing games and trying to be adults when they're not, and that is a nice comparison when you see that it happens at the same time as in World War II, but it just never works as it just happens and there's no real repercussion.
