Jaime Rebanal’s review published on Letterboxd:
TIFF 2021: #7 (Gala Presentations)
In some ways, a love letter to Ingmar Bergman - but it also feels like a tour through that same island where Bergman had made many of his films. If there's anything else that Mia Hansen-Løve does well with Bergman Island, it gives audiences a sense of how the films of Ingmar Bergman were foundational to the way that they look at the medium.
I feel like there's not really much else I can say here, but nevertheless, I can only find myself wanting to see much more from Mia Hansen-Løve within the coming years.
