Started off like the perfect meet-cute before it delves into a comedy all about people who vent out their own insecurities in front of one another and take their frustrations out on the two of them by making it all into the other person's problem. But it's also the perfect circumstance by which you can get the sense that the romance between the two is starting to blossom, and the visual style that first-time director Raine Allen-Miller employs here perfectly encapsulates how loud these people's inner pains can really get: all in a setting that feels as ordinary as the titular Rye Lane.
Kind of blown away by this. Just truly wonderful stuff all around and I'm looking forward to what Allen-Miller's got next.
