Jaime Rebanal’s review published on Letterboxd:
The best Christmas film of the year.
I'm probably not the first person who's made this joke, but it's one that really fits when you're describing the film. The episodic structure of The Green Knight works in its favour, especially when you're adding that alongside the dreamlike feeling that David Lowery creates for the film - turning the story that could be any other Arthurian tale adaptation into a work that distinctively belongs to him.
It functions best as a deconstruction of the myth, but in addition to being what might be his most visually beautiful work to date, I can't help but feel as if the existentialist nature of The Green Knight will linger within my mind in the days to come. Dev Patel has never been better, and I do look forward to watching this again.
