My brain is so fucked from watching this so I’m just gonna talk about Bergman’s ability to use a frame.
He really knew exactly what he was doing with each and every shot. The use of space and how every single second is utilized to tell a story. Most of Persona is just moving images with a few words to simply fill in the blanks. Many of the shots near the end are ambiguous and Bergman knows just how to wink at the audience when it comes to discussing it.
Might have to watch it again before I attempt to analyze it.
