Jake Masterton’s review published on Letterboxd:
In the Mood for Love captures most of what it’s like to fall out and in love again and it’s both wonderful and tragically sad to watch. People are fearful of what others think, emotions and thoughts of not thinking you’re worth while for anything new. These are all done in a way that feels real.
I hope on a rewatch my issues with some of the artistic choices, such as the editing and the overuse of the theme will not be so much of an issue. I found this to be more intriguing and honest than anticapted, yet sometimes repetitive and unsure in its stylisization.
