“Sometimes you must dangle your feet in the water in order to attract the sharks”
The biggest underlining issue presented in Enola Holmes is that it’s undergoing an identity crisis throughout. The sheer amount of plot and the sheer amount of character slowly but surely drown out what this film needs and should be about - Enola. The film wastes not only the talents of Millie Bobby Brown but it’s titular character. Due in turn to the colossal amount of weight given to those around her that is not reinforced back into the films central character. Again, Brown is in her element here and the charm/charisma pulls her through, but everything around her feels overly too antiquated.
