US CUT + 4K RESTORATION
On a craft level The Shining is simply unparalleled within its genre. Expertly executed in every single department by auteur Stanley Kubrick with two tremendous performances from Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. The latter of which is so convincing and hauntingly present, it's often far too distressing to witness. Capped off with a score that is a living breathing audible nightmare that digs deep under the surface to live with the audience forever. That being said, unlike Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friedkin’s The Exorcist, Kubrick's film is vastly inferior in regards to horror, albeit saved with lasting iconography.
