Au Hasard Balthazar 1966
I thought I hated it when I was watching, I couldn't stand to see the cruelty on screen, or maybe I just wanted to see more of Balthazar compared to the humans, especially as their acting style is far more natural than what I'm used to in film, and I confused it for just being amateurish, the deliveries not living up to the dialogue. The BFG 2016
Not necessarily his worst film, but his least essential. For a film about faraway lands, there’s little imagination and emotional connection, which is the worst thing that can be said about a Spielberg adventure picture. Once the second half begins, the film grinds to a screeching halt, and we are spending way too long in Buckingham Palace. Mark Rylance is great though, bringing enough charm to the role of the titular giant.
