I thought I hated it when I was watching, I couldn't stand to see the cruelty on screen, or maybe I just wanted to see more of Balthazar compared to the humans, especially as their acting style is far more natural than what I'm used to in film, and I confused it for just being amateurish, the deliveries not living up to the dialogue. Not necessarily his worst film, but his least essential. For a film about faraway lands, there’s little imagination and emotional connection, which is the worst thing that can be said about a Spielberg adventure picture.
