The films are Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger are some of the most revered and praised British films of all time. Unfortunately they're two filmmakers I'd have liked to have explored more, having seen and adored The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp back in December 2015 and then The Red Shoes in March 2016, it has been well over a year since I saw a new film by Powell and Pressburger.

One of the best new watches of 2016. Powerful, powerful film which is worthy of all of it's praise including it's prestigious "Palme d'Or" won at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.
Steven Spielberg was one of the judges that year who expressed lots of love towards the film and rightly so since this film is phenomenal. I hear a lot of people comment on how graphic the sexual content is; but I didn't really think it had an impact…
