James’s review published on Letterboxd:
Brilliantly directed, with some of the most creatively filmed shots I've seen in the last 5 years. Parasite is a meditation of the gap that exists between the upper and lower class, on the way those who view themselves as superiors treat those who are supposedly beneath them. Equal parts fun con film and tense thriller. Every performance is spot on here and sells the piece flawlessly. The choice of when to include the instrumental score and when to exclude it, is paramount to the tone of the film. Bong Joon-Ho is deserving of all the accolades the film has received, as it is an effective film as well as a vector for his message on classism.
