This is an insane achievement. A massive celebration of the entire creative process. From the mundane meetings with producers to the exhilarating high of the final bow. Leigh shows no signs of cynicism for his craft even when the disappointments mount. I love this so much. And Spall getting a massive emotional arc in the final act seemingly out of no where is beautiful.
The exact kind of self-serious, artsy, contemplation on existence stuff that can be very stuffy and pretentious. Thankfully this movie is made with endless wells of compassion and is anchored by Winston Duke who once again proves he’s one of the most promising talents on the planet. Cried in the theater and then almost burst into tears walking to my car. Beautiful.
Went in with fairly low expectations seeing as no one is talking about this and now I’m just bummed no one is talking about it. Go see this!
