James Leggett’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is one of the more unique American films of the '50s. It combines elements of fairy tale, horror, and black humor. Amazing that this is the only film Charles Laughton directed as it showcases a lot of skill behind the camera. I intend to rewatch this soon as I feel this is a film you can gain more out of upon multiple viewings. And Robert Mitchum is perfect in this role.
