All Quiet on the Western Front

All Quiet on the Western Front ★★★★½

A searing, monstrous piece of filmmaking. Berger has perfectly captured the anti-war sentiments here, not once holding back from the brutality of battle and the smaller, quieter moment do a superb job of showcasing the more intimate fears and horrors that come with the war that rages in front of you. The ensemble is excellent, particularly Albrecht Schuch, who is tremendous in every single frame he's in. This one isn't to be missed.
