The Holy Mountain is simultaneously one of the most beautiful and absurdly hilarious things I have ever seen. Never before has such silly and surreal imagery been treated with so much confidence. Jodorowsky commits to every bit of psychedelic madness, elevating it infinitely through stunning cinematography and an atmospheric score. Does all of it have some deep poetic meaning? Probably not, but I also don't think that's the point. Jodorowsky is happy to let his vision speak for itself, refusing to censor himself and constantly pushing the limits more and more until we're given one of cinema's most bizarre endings ever. There's no words that can relay the feeling one leaves The Holy Mountain with, it is something that truly must be seen to be believed.
