The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

one of the most convoluted and bland MCU products in recent years. Marvel is at its best when it leans into its extravagant, hyper-sensationalist and extravagant comic-book tone, (ahem) so this was mostly a snooze-fest, especially after Wandavision which was at least trying to be something weird and different. the villain was incredibly annoying and one-dimensional, and the plot was insanely confusing and poorly paced/explained. I never really knew what was happening, and I spent most of my time just waiting for Anthony Mackie to show up. there were too many characters, too many plot lines, and it never really justified its existence. the best parts of TFATWS were the relationship between Sam and Isaiah, and the character of John Walker, who I really enjoyed until I saw everyone online just blindly hating him when he was very clearly written as a complex figure. that was pretty disappointing. I've always been a defender of the MCU and think people take, what I remind you are comic book films, way too seriously, but I think most of the criticisms levelled at it are warranted with this show.
