Jamie Woodham’s review published on Letterboxd:
MOTHERFUCKIN’ YEESH, Y’ALL.
This here? This shit right here? This is what a motion fuckin’ picture looks like in 2019.
The script, the score, the talent, the edit, the perfect time capsule of the early 2010s in urban America — there’s just nothing about this that I didn’t love. At one point, I literally just stood in front of my TV for a good ten minutes. It’s always special when you find a movie that feels tailor-made for you, and let me tell ya — this movie, down to the stupidly-perfect casting of Kevin Garnett, is one such movie for me.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to resurface my fucking swimming pool.
