The final David Fincher film I haven't seen (excluding Alien³), Gone Girl is a great thriller with some great performances, dialogues and character development.
The premise is a great thriller-mystery premise and all the characters and performances make it even better.
While we're talking about the performances, the two leads were just brilliant. Ben Affleck fit his role great and Rosamund Pike was just brilliant and she is very easy to hate in this movie. She was just great at playing the villain and her character was very well written. There are also plenty of great supporting performances along with the great performances from the two leads.
The movie also looks great with some amazing cinematography that is great throughout.
There were still some moments that didn't quite work for me, but this is still a great movie and I debated giving it a 4.5, but I have settled on a high 4. This was just a great movie that keeps you guessing from start to finish.
