Skyfall ★★★★

After the mediocre Quantum of Solace, Craig's Bond needed another great movie to show that this franchise isn't playing around, and they did just that.
Skyfall is a solid action movie, but what makes it great is that it is also an homage to the whole franchise. The story explores the history of M and James Bond in a way it didn't do before. It explores M's time before she worked with Bond and it also looks into Bond's childhood. Along with that, this movie also has a lot of throwback moments. One that was especially great was the reveal of the Aston Martin DB5 and the old school Bond theme started playing. At that point I had goosebumps, it was that good.
Craig continues to do a fantastic job of portraying Bond and he makes this character the most human out of any other actor. Judi Dench is again solid as M, and we also get a new Q and a new Moneypenny. Ben Whishaw is good as Q, but I just feel like he's trying too hard. There are scenes where he becomes a bit too over-the-top. The villain is played by Javier Bardem and I think it is enough to say that to realize how good the villain is. Bardem is just a great natural villain.
The song for this movie is also one of the top 5 songs. Adele is undoubtedly a great singer and she made a fantastic song for this movie.
This movie is also one of the better-looking Bond movies as it features Roger Deakins' cinematography so you know it will look good.
The action scenes are also great, but they are not like some of the usual action scenes. This movie is pretty much a cat and mouse style movie so there are a lot of chase scenes and ambushes and not so many big epic fight scenes.
This has some other problems, but as a whole, this is a fantastic Bond movie and this feels like the full restart for the franchise.
