Joe Aragon’s review published on Letterboxd:
If it bleeds, we can kill it.
To say the Predator franchise has been rocky since it’s 1987 debut may be an understatement. Literal decades have gone by and none seem to have figured out how to breathe new life into one of science fiction’s coolest monsters- until now.
Visceral kills, a sweeping landscape for a setting, but most importantly, abandoning the macho military man trope and replacing it with characters that have depth is why Prey succeeds where past iterations have failed.
Amber Midthunder is a star and give Dan Trachtenberg whatever he wants, he’s more than proved himself.
Absolutely ridiculous this was dumped onto Hulu, it deserved to be on the big screen.
