    A hyper-realist examination of the mental and social strain of market based economics, among other things. Not really a work I would analyze like most other films, but instead one each individual needs to watch on their own to truly experience.

    “You can always hire one half of the poor to kill the other half.”

    The hate of this movie really surprises me. Everything about it was great, whether it be the color grading, set design, acting, music, writing, directing, it’s all on point. The idea that all means to an end are themselves part of the end despite being forgotten is nuanced, and the general class commentary and critique of American democracy is as well. Scorsese at his most populist.
