A friend of mine recommended this film to me as she stated that it was amazing. After seeing it, she was right, because this film is phenomenal. It is hilarious, sweet natured, beautiful, superbly written, heartwarming, and even sad when it needs to be. Also, the performances and chemistry from the two main leads is the best I have seen all year, the supporting cast are just as wonderful, the soundtrack is awesome, the climax is thrilling, and characters are endearing. Honestly, this film felt completely different from any film I have ever seen, from the way it's shot, from the locations, from the music, and from the tone. Hunt for the Wilderpeople is an outstanding film on every level and one of the best films of the year by far. It is really sad that the film did not get a wide release in theaters, but if you ever get a chance to watch this movie, do it because it is nothing short of brilliant.
