Drive My Car 2021
I didn’t even realize this was a Murakami adaptation when i put it on, but it sure felt like a Murakami story, pretty much immediately.
I loved the scene between the two men in the backseat. They both wanted things from the other that they really could never get.
Opening credits at 38 minutes in has to be a record, right?

It took me around 3 weeks to get through this, but I’m glad i did it.
I really appreciated the quiet tenacity of the filmmaker. I’ll remember the scene where he confronts the ex nazi soldier at his bartending job forever. It was bold, but also totally warranted. The nazi’s reaction was very human and telling.
