Jason the Feature Creature’s review published on Letterboxd:
Pure horrorific fun. A refreshingly original concept blended with some classic genre tropes. People will be discussing this film for decades to come, a monumental centerpiece of modern day black cinema brimming with horror, suspense and nonstop thrills. Jordan Peele improves upon his last hit and continues his journey as a fully emerged cultural icon.
Peele integrates folklore and science fiction, placing genre, mood and atmosphere at the forefront of his feature, and in the process he places his film light years beyond the jump scares, brutality and other cheap aspects of popular horror. This flick is significant in a way that half the other films coming out today aren’t able to achieve.
