Jason Alley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Haven't watched this in years, and it's still pretty much perfect. Every camera movement, every performance, every line of dialogue, every Aimee Mann song on the soundtrack. I was instantly reminded why I was a bit obsessed with this film back when it was a new release.
Also, the many-years break allowed me to kinda/sorta experience the famous frog scene as it may have been for people who didn't know it was coming. And it made me appreciate how good it is for the film, arriving right when a little extravagant absurdity is needed to break up all the sadness and acting with a capital "A."
