    Heirs of the Beast

    ★★★½

Nifty little documentary about the Spanish cult classic Day of the Beast and the trials and tribulations it went through to get made by the eclectic cast and crew. It also offered up a small insight into horror/sci-fi filmmaking in Spain (though not nearly enough). Decent!

    Franky and His Pals

    ★★★½

SOV horror is a thing of beauty sometimes. Franky and His Pals has some of our most classic monsters (Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy, and the Hunchback of Notre Dame) as a band of friends freed from their cave under an avalanche and eager to head into town to find buried Gold. Lots of hijinks ensue involving farts, horny babes, alcohol, and other silly stuff that made this movie a real delight. Could've been shorter but overall, this movie is very charming. I hope more SOV fans get to see it.

Blood & Flesh: The Reel Life & Ghastly Death of Al Adamson

    ★★★★

A wild, strange, heartbreaking story about the cinematic life and tragic murder of an obscure filmmaker Al Adamson of Schlock and Horror. This doc is crazy good. And I'm not just saying that because the director is my boss; it is genuinely good.
