"I have a love in my life, It makes me stronger than anything you can imagine."
If this is romance through the eye of P. T. Anderson: Brilliant!
If this is comedy through the eye of P.T. Anderson: Brilliant!
If this is a cartoon through the eye of P.T. Anderson: Brilliant!
Every way I see it, every way I interpreted, is the same outcome, brilliant!
Punch-Drunk Love starts very calmly pace but when we hit the 5 minute mark, it goes on a rampage, turns into a frenetic romantic comedy, that doesn't stop till the end.
The characters behaviors remind me a lot of 'Looney Tunes' Saturday morning cartoons, you had the annoying sisters, the sidekick employee, the asshole call girl with the dumb blond guys and the love interest, all of them were cut-outs from cartoons, but Paul Thomas Anderson mix this with a couple drops of dark psychology and a pinch of drama and we have.. Punch Drunk Love.
Adam Sandler, is spectacular, I don't think there is anything else I can say that would do it justice. This is an example of how much of a great director Paul Thomas Anderson is, he found the ways to bring the best in Sandler, the same way Michel Gondry did with Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind , things like that is what separates good director from brilliant directors.
I'm in love with Punch Drunk Love, is a funny, off the walls romantic comedy. The best romantic comedy I have ever seen period.
