"Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law."
The words Classic, iconic, original, bad-ass, entertaining comes to mind when thinking about Robocop. Paul Verhoeven, satire about society and control in a alternate reality is engaging from the opening scene with the huge Robocop letters, introducing a bleak and hopeless city control by a corporation.
Everything about Robocop is fascinating from the choice of color palette, iconic soundtrack and excessive use of violence that in the context of the film is justified, is not there just to shock you, but to expand on Verhoeven idea.
Since the first time I watched Robocop it made an impact on me, and to this day still does, this is a timeless classic, a film that is rear now a days, Paul Verhoeven took a chance and I thank him for that.
